How to make a follower for my mod

Hello, I'm trying to make my character summon followers to help give my character abilities

 

I want the followers to be based on the lunarmoth model since it's the closest thing in terms of how it would look while also be able to replace the images, but I also want to be able to make them from the crafting tab, and as soon as they are crafted they will follow the player. I want him to hold up to 3 followers at once. i plan on making 6 types of the same creature that gives different abilities, Right now im more focus on just trying to get these creatures to follow me, can anyone help?

In all, I would be hoping to achieve the following

• Craft several different types of custom follower/object by the crafting menu.
• Have the follower appear behind the player (maximum of 3)
• Have the follower grant passive perks to the player eg increase speed/defence/attack/health etc
• I need an option to dismiss one of the followers at any time

If anyone have any advice on how to get started or what existing scripts I can look at for reference that would be hugely appreciated.

You can look at wormwood's summons, search under scripts folder for "wormwood_carrat"
