Multiple save files

Is there any plan to introduce more save files instead of character slots?

I wish to play with 2 group of people as a separate save files but the progress kind of merges with each other (especially with the NPCs and unlocked content) even with different characters. So I am wondering if we could have that instead of having to reset the game everytime.

I hope so. There's a hidden save slot feature that devs have access to (and you can name each slot's town too), but it isn't ingame yet so that might go live at some point in EA.
