Don't Starve update glitch

I just updated Don't Starve on my Nintendo Switch and now the game crashes with code errors every time I make a rabbit trap. The error code has something to do with the "drop item" action. I opened up an old Hamlet game and it happened there too not just in the new R of G game I started. Obviously this makes game play impossible if your character needs meat.
