Sea Base: Doubts and Tips recomendations?

Hello everyone. I'm thinking about making a Sea Base on DST by using (MANY) Dock Kits. Though I've doubts on if I'd be optimal/usable.

Some initial Thoughts:

How could I have a Plantation with a Sea Base?

Does Bee Boxes work on Dock Kits?

Are there any good/interesting Sea Base Layouts?

I'd also thanks for any tips in advice!

everything is usable, but it wouldn't be optimal because it has no advantages in comparison to making a base and something being optimal depends on your goal and making a base isn't optimal if you're going to do anything except megabasing, people also usually are talking about bases on boats when talking about sea bases, since docks are just extensions of shore

probably yes, but you can't plant flowers there

no, docks are mostly decorative

I think a hybrid sea base is interesting, half shore half docks 

 

Easy access to salt, deep sea fish, kelp farms full coverage of fig trees are all great 

 

Having it near wormholes/caves/frostjaw locations is probably make or break 

 

But honestly I wouldn't do it unless world gen favored the circumstances.
