Backpack panel obscures action controls – Pocket edition, iPad pro Only?

Problem: When the backpack is enabled, the contents panel appears in front of the action buttons, meaning they cannot be used, severely limiting gameplay – this appears to be an iPad only bug.

Details: The game interface has updated, so the 3 action buttons are vertically stacked on the right hand side of the screen, and the backpack contents are displayed in a second row beneath the main inventory. However the old style backpack contents panel also appears whenever the backpack is worn, also on the right side of the screen, and obscures the action buttons. The backpack panel is active and responded to touch, so it is impossible to use the on screen action controls while wearing a backpack. (Changing HUD size makes no difference as backpack panel resizes in sync) Previously played July 2023, so the change has happened since then.

Device: iPad Pro (12.9-inch) (5th generation) running iPadOS 17.3 (21D50)  no paired controller, touch screen controls only.

Game: Don’t Starve Pocket Edition + (Apple Arcade) – fully updated in App Store

This bug only appears when playing the vanilla version of the game – when RoG content is enabled, the old style backpack panel does not appear.

Tested with characters Wilson and Willow, with both Classic and No Sweat modes, default world and customised, controller enabled/disabled, on previously saved games and brand new games. Whatever the other settings, RoG always displays properly, vanilla always has the backpack panel bug.

(Also tested DS:PE+ (AppArc) on iPhone 14 Pro Max – the bug does not occur in either vanilla or RoG, works fine on all settings)
