Diagonal roads

I think it would be amazing if diagonal cobblestones actually looked diagonal, rather than zig-zaggy. Instead of this

would it be possible to make them look like the naturally occurring roads?

Since turf overlap is rather intricate, perhaps cobblestones could be the only turf with this special diagonal property. I think that would be sufficient for most of us.

It'd be nice if they could make that work well, but for the time being, I've taken to making diagonal cobblestone roads into a series of stepping stones rather than zaggy roads. So long as you keep to the middle, you keep the speed boost throughout.
