JoyFlameball Posted January 23, 2024 Share Posted January 23, 2024 Okay so I came up with this while pacing around in circles at 2 AM so this is very unpolished but behold a minigame I made in my head called the charlie game Maximum of six normal players, and one player being the "Night Monster"- this is the Charlie. Basically they use that one Charlie character mod (with adjustments). Their role is to, every night, hunt the players down, get them in the dark somehow, and kill them. When the daylight arrives, Charlie completely vanishes, only able to spectate the players. During dusk, she'll be essentially a ghost (though one the players can't see), with the ability to haunt objects to spook the players. When night hits, she reappears where she left off, and must find the players to kill them. Charlie can ONLY attack you or be attacked in darkness. If she's in the light, she's unable to be seen. The base Grue is either turned off or has GREATLY reduced damage (though sanity will still be greatly damaged by being in the dark, and you'll still be unable to craft things). The players win either when you've killed Charlie or when Charlie has killed everyone. If you're killed by something other than Charlie, you get to respawn, but if you're killed by her, that's permanent. ADDITIONAL Charlie has reduced hunger drain, no sanity meter, and a lot of health. To compensate for this, the only thing that she can eat is Nightmare Fuel, which doubles as a healing item for her. Murdering someone will also fill her hunger bar. Everyone's map is synced up- even for Charlie. This way, Charlie is able to hunt the players. Charlie has a strong insanity aura, which can serve as a warning for players when she draws near. (It's stronger for Maxwell and Winona.) When Charlie is near, any light sources will lose fuel faster, and if you have a campfire, there's a chance for shadow hands to try and take out your fire regardless of your sanity, and make more shadow creatures start appearing than normal. This too can serve as a warning, for if the players communicate and none of them have low enough sanity, they can realize she's near and prepare for battle. Moggles, WX's night vision upgrade, Woodie's Were-vision, and anything that allows you to see in the dark without casting light are very valuable. They will be the only thing you can use to see and attack Charlie. The day mode is set to either "long night" or "no day/dusk" to allow Charlie to be an actual threat. Charlie has about 10% reduced damage against Winona, who has about 10-15% reduced damage against her. (Her damage against Maxwell is also buffed somehow, though idk if it should be more damage or less.) Winona's inventions will malfunction when Charlie draws near. The spotlights will usually start pointing in her direction before they lose power. I want picking roses to do something for Charlie- maybe picking roses when she's nearby will do some amount of damage to her, or weaken her somehow. This is a draft but I need to get it out there into the world.
