As much as I love her with all my heart, I gotta say, she's pretty much just a slower version of Maxwell, and I want to change that. Here, I'll be tossing around a few ideas on how to separate her from him. ----------|Craftsmerms Currently, there's very little reason to craft Craftsmerms huts when Guard huts exist. Sure, guards only come out once you have a king, but kings are easy to get. Plus, the Swamp already has a better version of merm houses. And so, I think we should be able to give Craftsmerms jobs. Maybe by giving them hats, just like a few users already suggested. Here are a few ideas -Giving them straw hats make them gather materials from nearby Saplings, bushes and Grass tufts, then place them in a chest -Giving them Catcoon Caps will make them chop and replant nearby trees (making merm houses is expensive, they gotta pay back somehow) -Giving them Rain hats will make them fishers. Catching ocean fish over time and placing them in a Tin Fishin' bin. Also, to separate them from Maxwell's workers, maybe they could work even while unloaded? ----------| Guards These skills will be very basic. Just little buffs that could make the Guards more useful in the early game, maybe even make Guard types, like Guard Tanks, who are high HP guards who will not Kite, and will also draw aggro towards them. Or guard blow gunners, who work like MacTusk, Using a range attack, but run away from any nearby mobs ----------| Literature Isn't it strange how books are LITERALLY how Wurt joined the survivors, and yet, they only play an extremely minor role in her gameplay? I think Wurt should be able to craft her own Fairytales and stories. Some Fairytales could give merms buffs, while others could give her and nearby players buffs, like a sanity increase (like she does with Wicker's books, but now it affects multiple players, and doesn't waste Wickerbottom's book durability) Or more niche ones, like Health over time ----------| Royalty This branch is all about the Merm king. Currently, he's nothing more than just a food dump, and a worse Pig King. I think Wurt should be able to craft new crowns for him (Gold crowns, Glass crowns, Theulcite crowns) and it'll improve the King's trades, like giving you more gold in exchange of ocean fish, allow him to trade Eels for gold, and replace some of his random Seeds, with crop seeds. What are some of your opinions on the Wurt Skiltree? And what do you agree/disagree with here?
