Do the new lunar bosses have some kind of cooldown??

Title. 

I just made Bearger kill the Possessed Varg for me, Wagstaff appeared and was satisfied.

The Bearger was left with 14 hp, so I just hit it with my walking cane. It died instantly, no corpse left behind, so I can't fight the lunar variant of bearger now. Is it because of a bug, or do they have some sort of cooldown after killing one of them?

Here is most likely what happened:

  1. Rift was active in the world, but only had one wave of brightshades left to spawn (in other words, it was close to the end of its life cycle).
  2. Varg died and turned into Possessed Varg. This removed one wave of brightshades from the active rift (this happens any time a boss mutates).
  3. Since the rift had no more waves of brightshades to spawn, it closed.
  4. Bearger died, but since there was no rift active anymore, they did not transform.

yes that is what happened, unlucky timing...
