Wetness in caves

I'm trying to use the console to spawn a wet toadstool.  I made it winter, then made it rain in the caves.  It's been raining and winter for several days now and nothing's wet yet.  Mysterious Plants aren't even Wet or anything.  How is this supposed to work?  I thought Winter was the wet caves season just like Spring is the wet forest season.

I don't see anything about this on the Wiki.

Use this command to increase the global wetness to 100, making toadstool wet.

 

The cave gets the same amount of precipitation as the surface, the only difference is that it doesn't replace rain with snow.

If you want to fight wet toadstool, it's best in the spring.

The wet mechanic is really weird in this game, do you know that all the ocean mobs that are in the water arent wet? yeah pretty funny fact. if you want to use the morning star to kill toadstool or misery toadstool you have to do it during spring, I already tested it and i used only 2 morning stars and 2 thulecite clubs to kill misery toadstoll during spring with woodie.

In conclusion you can only fight wet mobs or bosses during spring. During a heavy rain.
