Wormwood Skill Tree Small Improvements

Recommended Posts

I've been enjoying Wormwood and his skill tree. I believe there are a few things that should be improved for a better player experience.

First just a QoL proposed change:

Lunar Cultivator II: The Lightbugs are nice. I love using them, even though they can die super easily to AoE attacks or earthquakes. An important issue with them is them not matching your speed, and you needing to slow down to have them catch up. But the major gripe I have with it is in the caves, where they get stuck in corners and leave Wormwood with less or possibly no light. I believe they should be made to match your speed, and to be able to fly over the void, like they fly over the ocean on the surface.

And then possible small balance changes:

Lunar Cultivator III: Despite the high HP cost I'd still like to use the Saladmanders, but as of right now they are only useful for a handful of things. They would be more useful if their speed was increased, by a lot. Much of the time they cannot even reach the enemy before it dies if it's a lowish HP enemy, or catch up with the enemy if it's one that moves, like Bee Queen. And if they were fast enough Wormwood could be able to lead them away from boom shrooms, like Wendy can with Abigail.

A note for the future on Wormwood's Lunar Cultivator: All his summons should be Lunar Aligned so they don't take damage from Lunar Hail when it regains its ability to deal damage to creatures.

Moon Shroom Cloud: This Skill is a versatile one and I appreciate that. It's useful for a variety of things. However, I think for it to be more useful in more instances in solo combat, Wormwood should be more resistant to the grogginess effect of the Moon Shrooms. No need to disable it entirely but at least having him not yawn and be slowed down from the first one eaten would be nice. I also think that possibly Wormwood's followers should be immune to the sleeping effect from the cloud, as they are to other effects in his skill tree. At least his Saladmanders should be, as otherwise there's another point against using them.
