FrozenFrosty
Hello, I'm currently facing an issue while attempting to set up a dedicated server on my LAN. I'm using an older Mac as the server, and I've successfully managed to get it up and running. However, when I attempt to connect to it from another PC, I'm unable to see the server in the LAN server list. I tried using c_connect('mac IP', 'port'), and it did allow me to connect to the server, but only as a new player. Additionally, I couldn't utilize my local mods for that session. I'm seeking guidance on how to make the server visible in the list, enabling me to join it normally. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated. Daniel86268
According to the settings reference lan_only_cluster makes the server only accept connections from the same LAN. This could already fiddle with the server listing, not sure. dedicated_lan_server I have no idea about, but it does sound like something that makes your server only usable from your LAN, and therefore may not show up in the listings either. 22 hours ago, FrozenFrosty said: but only as a new player. I assume you've copied over your previously locally hosted instance to your dedicated server. You might have to manually transfer your user data into the respective locations on your dedicated server, as the client might save stuff somewhere else. 22 hours ago, FrozenFrosty said: Additionally, I couldn't utilize my local mods for that session If you mean the mods you've been previously using on a local/client hosted instance, you'll have to set them up manually. I did a guide on that a while back. It's locked by now, but the configuration hasn't changed. If you mean your client sided mods, they should work just fine. Make sure that they are still active. Sometimes DST disables them after crashing to make sure you can at least log into your game rather than locking you out due to startup crashes. I'll try again later and see if this would work~ Link to comment https://forums.kleientertainment.com/forums/topic/151033-question-about-dedicated-server-under-lan-environment/#findComment-1665949 Share on other sites
