Jakepeng99
I have had this idea lingering around for a long time. This wont be a big skill tree, just some quick concepts. Willow gains the ability to absorb fires by right clicking them, the type of fire will depend on the results. Fire Rebalance Tripled the damage fire does to mobs. Mobs killed while on fire drop their normal loot, but they are set on fire if elidgable. (From uncomp mode) Normal Fires Absorbing regular fires will increase her fire mana thermoneter. They will be useful for damage. Endothermic Fires Absorbing endothermic fires will increase her endofire meter. They will be useful for stuns, and freezes. Shadow Fires Absorbing Shadow flames from night lights will increase her Shadow flame mana meter. These can be used for special effects New Lighters (To help with the upcoming spells) She has two new lighters; the Endothermic Lighter and the Shadowflame Lighter: The Endothermic Lighter is crafted using Nitre, her original lighter and an electric Doo dad. The Shadowflame Lighter is made using Nightmare fuel, her original lighter and a red gem. All types of lighters can be refueled by absorbing fire with them in hand related to the type of fire they are based on, refueling them for 1/6 of their durability. Her regular lighter is for normal fires. Willow may absorb fire from the lighters, costing 1/6 of their durability so they act as a way to store fire. Willow can now only have one type of each lighter in her inventory for balance reasons. Lighters will not break upon 0% durability. Spells To switch the mana mode you will use, you interact with the coresponding lighter, fire mode is on by default. For example, if you interact with the endo lighter, you will enter "Endo Mode". By default, Willow may right click something to throw a basic blast with a short cooldown and mana cost depending on the mana mode you have chosen. There is a cooldown between switching modes. For fire mode, you throw a fire blast which sets something on fire, and deals 100 damage if it hits a mob. Moderate cooldown, Moderate Mana For Endo modd, you set a mob ablaze in a cold fire. It is like a regular fire, but instead of damaging it, the mob and other nearby mobs next to the flame is gradually frozen while on fire. Very Short cooldown, Moderate Mana For Shadow mode, the affected mob and nearby ones in an area of affect deals some less damage for a little while and moves slower. Cooldown is decently long A few Skills Related to it Blazing Glory: Deal Increased damage to enemies set on fire Super brittle: When something is fully frozen from one of your spells, it takes 3x damage when hurt while frozen. Sucker Punch: Shadowflame spells now are able to push back affected targets Everything above is the main idea and structure, everything below is a few addons i thought of Unlocking New spells? Everything past here is just brainstorming for potential ideas Willow could unlock new spells by crafting special stones which she could apply to her lighter. If you used a lighter with the special stone applied, it would come with the new spell when entering that mode. There could be stones that give passive effects while in a mode, such as setting enemies that attack you on fire while in Fire Mode as a quick example. You could replace your default casts with other spells with different mana costs, abilities and cooldowns It could be cool to assign a spell kit to a specific lighter for a specific situation, there could be strategies in multiplayer featuring Shadow Willows combined with different ice Willows with different spells assigned Thank you for reading! This is a rough concept so don't expect it to be perfectly balanced, i can not really play test anything and i was worried to make it to confusing to understand. The forums are so broke they posted my post twice. Link to comment https://forums.kleientertainment.com/forums/topic/150789-willow-fire-mage-concept/ Share on other sites
