Change to server creation to reduce kicking/banning (friends only by default)

Change the server creation options to be friends only by default

It's been an issue I've been facing for quite a while, I get kicked or banned by servers more often than I find any to play on, specifically in the endless category. I assume it is because new players do not change their server settings and glance over the option to set it to friends only, leading to their server being open on the server browser. It makes more sense to me if the servers were to be friends only by default, public by choice to make it easier to find servers, and to make it easier for new players to play without having to kick/ban someone every now and then.

I have been told by others on the Klei discord server to just settle for playing official servers, but I don't really like that option as you meet very cool people in smaller servers, and I really like helping people progress in their own worlds. The other option I was told was to ask if it is a private server as soon as I join, which doesn't really work as I usually get kicked/banned before I even load in.

It doesn't necessarily have to be friends only by default, I only ask that the option is made more visible to newer players in some way so that they may have an easier time setting up a private server.

I agree it should not be the default setting, as new people might not notice and wonder why no one is joining, or you thought you made It was public, but no one was joining as you had to back out of the creation screen and then came back to the menu. does sound like a nice QOL feature.

also, you can find plenty of cool people on official publics to, as there is no difference other than 1 being up all the time and 1 going down then the host is down.

(it was how Jared the hound and Carmice the carrat was born, so I may be biased) :wilson_blush:
