Mod not showing up in DST mod select menu.

Hi, I'm new to DST modding and I looked up a simple Hello World mod guide to learn the basics of how the mod structure works. I was wondering how can I get my mod to run in DST? I've tried putting my mod folder in "common\Don't Starve Together\mods" and in  "workshop\content\322330\", but regardless of which folder I put it in it did not show up in the DST mod selection menu.

I tried changing the details of other already existing mods and that worked! But I have yet to still figure out why my mod doesn't show up. I tried looking up forums with the same issue as mine, but couldn't find any. I also looked up new guides to modding, but all used either external tools or were too outdated.

Probably uploading my "Hello World" script to the Workshop will fix the issue, but I would prefer to find a solution without using the workshop. I apologize if there is already a forum with a similar issue, but any help will be appreciated.

There is a gear button in the mod selection menu, it filters up non-steam mods

Thank you so much! Mine was filtered to workshop only for some reason.
