Valase
TLDR: I'd like to suggest another look at Wormwood skill tree (mainly the bottom right branch). First and foremost, I do believe that a skill tree is a great way to give charactes multiple strengths, while making them choose where and how they will be stronger, with that in mind, I will go over the branches to Suggest what could be changed. I will avoid talking about the "fruits" (the one that require celestial champ) as I do believe that they both will get QoL touch ups. Bottom Right branch: This branch feels a bit of, in a sense that those perks were given to Wormwood because he would be the least problematic character to have them, said that, I do believe that those itens should be craftable, but maybe in a super late game structure or some other way, maybe defeating a plant raid boss to get blueprints. How Would I change it: I will try to make this branch as an counterpart to it's other side: Main branch: Composter I: Wormwood apply fertilizers a bit faster (10%); Composter II: Wormwood apply fertilizers faster (30%); Composter III: Wormwood apply fertilizers a lot faster (50%); Side Branch: Mulch Pile (Composter II branch): Heals over time from fertilizers now stack accordingly (so if you apply two rot, you will always heal 8 health, without needing to wait the first buff to end); Rotten Bag(Composter III branch): Wormwood can now craft a rotten bag( Just a normal backpack that rots things inside of it faster); Top Right branch: At the same time that I think that this branch okay, I do think that its just because of the four branches, two are not good. How Would I change it: I will put the Ipecac in other branch, and make this one more synergistic: Mushroom mastery II: Added Text: You can catch spores with your bare hands. Ipecaca -> Bloomer: While bloomed, periodically, wormwood will release random spores, each color will have a highter odd based on season and location (moon island, lunar grotto). Mushroom multiplier: Added text: You can now also plant Moon shrooms there. Moon shroom Cloud -> I don't have any play on words on this one: When Wormwood eats mushrooms(10s cool down, and goes down with the bloom stage or hitting enemies inside of it), he will realease a spore cloud based on the color of the mushroom Red: small bits of damage to enemies(up to 20 over the duration); Green: very small slow effect; Blue: heal to allied followers(up to 20 over time); Moon: stays the same. Top Left branch: I think that this branch is currently mostly superfluous; With things that could be easily be merged into one or added as a subtext to other skills. How Would I change It: I will try to make this branch explore more of the Wormwood crafts and how they could affect them. Main Branch: Craftfull: You can now craft your character specific items 25% faster(except living log), you can also craft Ipecaca Syrup; Spring trap: When a trap kills something, it resets; Leafy armor: Bramble husk now also heals from fertilizers applied to Wormwood; Side Branch: Flowery ingenuity(Spring trap branch): Insects (not spiders) will be neutral to Wormwood and be attracted to his bloomed flower, Wormwood can now craft a honey wand (one living log, 2 honey, 8 stingers, and look exactly like a small medieval mace) to force them out of their hives/ponds/houses without damaging them (basically the bee kind+ neutrality to the other insects); Lunar Cruelty(Leafy armor branch): You can use a razor to shave Spiky bushes and Cactus to stingers (50% for one, 25% for a second one), at the cost of 10 sanity and remove their spike effects( the spikes will regrow once they are ready to harvest again). Bottom Left branch: This branch is really good, except the skill that gives you petals, as some people said, it gives you petals until you have 10 of them in your inventory. While I think that it is overall "good" with Wormwood, as you can use it to get manure from pigs, rot by time or feed to a beefalo, the fact that if you remove the 10 limit, that will feel spammy, as it will keep on giving more and more flowers, is quite annoying. How Would I change that: Earlier in this post I did a similar skill (Bloomer) with the intention to remove this one. For this, I want one that have a strong upside that also is a downside. photosynthesis(flower power branch): When you are wet, at full bloom, and damaged, consume 5 hunger and one wetness to restore one health every 5 seconds. Wormwood can also dip his head on ponds and use the entire watering can on himself(every % equals one wetness). All that said, I am very happy with the update overall, and as you can see, I tried to give Wormwood newer strenghts based on the fact that you will not be able to reach all of them, and of course, I'm open to contructive criticism of this post, and do have knowledge that those numbers are a bit off.
