My guess is that despite being rated T for Teen Klei wants it to cater towards a younger audience as well so anything that felt “too dark” had to get the Axe..

Which sucks- Because I can start pulling up evidence of Minecraft (a game actually rated E for Everyone) having darker content then DST seems to be allowed to have.

I guess it’s really a touchy subject for Klei cause “too much” means having to resubmit to the ESRB ratings board or whatever but…

Minecrafts been getting new creepy content for years and it’s rating hasn’t changed..

Minecraft has its own literal version of hell with grotesque face torn off bone protruding from its skin creatures, it also has a mob called the drowned- which comes up out the water, grabs you and pulls you under so you become another member of its ranks.

What I fail to find the logic behind is how a game rated E for Everyone can get creepier darker content then the game rated T for Teen.

Klei is well aware of my disapproval of discontinuing the “Mighty Max-Esque” horror mobs… but they’re highly unlikely to change their minds that it doesn’t belong in DST.

This is an actual official statement about that (4th paragraph) instead of Mike's normal misinformation about this topic.

No Mike, Drowned don't do that, they just attack you like normal Zombies (or they throw tridents at you if they have one).
