jocodyroberts
I think it’s dumb that I can’t program a critter drop off when my critters have new species until they hatch. It only displays discovered creatures, whereas the critter feeder has every critter in the game and I can program the feeder to be loaded with food for every critter in the game. That means I gotta wait until my new species critter hatches and THEN (and only then) does the option appear for me to program the critter drop-off. Example: you have a hatch farm, they lay a sage hatch egg, at any point I can tell my critter feeder to only load food for a sage hatch, however the critter drop off doesn’t list the option to drop off the sage hatch until AFTER it’s born? Not to mention once it’s born ONLY the baby version shows up, so if time passes and it matures before you can program it again, your dupes rush in and hogtie the adult version of the critter I wanted in there and leave him roped up on the ground until I realize I haven’t programmed the critter drop off. This is… clunky, counter intuitive, more maintenance, it should match the critter feeder. Every species should be listed in the critter drop off just like in the feeder. It would be much better to have everything listed from the start, critters and materials included, because the same problem occurs for me when discovering new materials for the first time. After I dig out some regolith I have to locate all my storage bins with sand and uncheck regolith, which just appeared in the category and is checked on by default. Same with bins storing dirt after I dig out some clay. The list goes on.. It's fun the first time you play the game and discover new things, but after that it's just annoying. Yeah the worst is when you put bottle emptiers down, the only option from the start is water, so great, you check that and it puts a check mark under all, and after a few cycles your wash basins become full and are emptied and then the bottle emptier updates to include polluted water and then your dupes dump the gray water into your water tank -_- splendid. Now my entire reserve is infected with food poisoning.
