Cannot add Mods to my game

Hello,

Once I subscribe to a steam workshop in order to add any type of mode, no matter server mod or not, ingame it says 'workshop-SomeRandomNumber', and it appears blank and asking to be  be updated, however, once I do so, nothing changes and the mod stays unfunctional. A friend of mine downloaded the same mod, however, on their screen everything runs perfect. When I try to join their server it says that they play with nonupdated mods, and they should update them so I can join.
