Achievements in Steam version

Achievements are one of my favourite things to go after in video games, and they're nice to show off and record everything you've achieved across all your worlds. There are also already achievements on PS version of DST, so I'm not sure why there aren't in steam.

Adding achievements seems like a pretty simple, but very nice change that I would like in the game :)

I completely agree, I would start playing don’t starve again if it had achievements to work towards to that had all types of challenges and bosses and places to visit and just as many as possible for a new thing to work towards

Ehh. Just define your own points of merit and screenshot them. You don't need someone else to pre-define an arbitrary chore list for you.

Or you could play the old console version. I got started with Don't Starve on the Wii U. I only found the Achievement Shrine good for one thing.

klei specifically said they didn't want to add achievements to the game because of their previous experience with in-game tasks that left the players wondering what to do after them

there are only achievements in the console versions because sony forced them to, and the accomplishrine exists solely to make fun of them
