The quick fix for that is to render drywalls behind doors, airflow & mesh tiles and etc. This should be done only on space-exposed tiles to prevent even more confusion. I also find that very aesthetically pleasing. Also btw, maybe connect non-space exposed tiles to drywalls for aesthetic reasons... Open doors at least have a neutral gray background and I think that would be a good solution.
