When hovering over Maxwell's magician hat have opening it's storage prioritized over storing it in containers.

Since it shares the same button (left on the d-pad) with storing items in any container trying to access the items in the hat becomes a hassle of positioning since this involves everything that can have items inside it even things that won't let you store the hat in the first place.
