Suggestion: More Automations

Currently the automation components are limited. Many functions need to be implemented by multiple gates. There are already some mods in the workshop, but a official support will be better. Moreover, the logic ribbon is not useful now.

 

Here are some logic gates/components that I expect to see in the game:

  • delayers, delay the signal by a period, works like a combination of a filter gate with a buffer gate
  • more storages, including the Data Latch, etc.
  • multiplexing parts, provideing the ability to transmit hundreds of signals on a single logic wire but with low bandwidth. some players have already implement the function with complex design. it will bring a big revolution to the automatic conveyance system
  • more signal ports on exising buildings, including the Conveyor Receptacles, etc.

I`d love if they added more ribbon ports. We got only the pixel pack accepting ribbon input but there`s so many things that could use such an input. Like fabricators having certain recipies tied to inputs 2-4 (1 being just on-off). The landing pad could output different bits based on different conditions (rocket present, fuel loaded, cargo transferred, ready to launch). Even doors could have different states like allow pass but stay closed when possible or dissallow a certain dupe/direction.
