ShadowbirdRH
Among all the convenience it offers, it also solves a problem that the game has had for a long while, that being the inability to place turf over some structures/objects centered over that tile. I'm glad that with this item, we can finally get around that problem. Also major appreciation for tin fishin' bins on docks and receiving gifts at bookcases. The 10/17 update was great, but those features are especially nice. ZombieDupe
I would say it needs to be cheaper and most importantly repairable, maybe with a sewing kit, because the time and effort you put in to get those items a bit earlier on may just remove any time saved using the helm. ShadowbirdRH
The mats are pretty easy, especially if you don't just mindlessly attack everything. Collect beefalo wool with a razor as they sleep, collect pig skin not from pigs, but from werepigs, either on moonlit nights or after feeding them four monster meat. As for repairs, considering how easy desert stones are to amass and how little they're used for, plus their relevance to the item, I'd say they'd be perfect for repairing/recharging the turf-raiser helm. I'd go for around 1/8 durability per stone, that way whether you'd have an easier time gathering desert stones or beefalo wool and pig skins, you have a suitable option for you. ZombieDupe
Desert stone really doesn't matter. What I mean is the cost of 3 pig skin and 5 wool. For one hat that can't be repaired, that is insane. No, it will not save you time ultimately, at least not unless you play as a quick teleporting player like Wanda and have set up pig farms. The necessity for pig farms is honestly ludicrous in my opinion. Maybe as an option, but as a necessity (unless you're an absolute pro at this game), it is ridiculous. I don't think even dropping it to 1 wool and 1 skin (which I think would good if we want the potential loss and mass sharing of the item to not be such a problem in public lobbies) would be enough, it needs some robust repair method, and the sewing kit is there. If the sewing kit itself was a bit cheaper and with more durability, that would be even better. Too much necessity for silk farms primarily because of them, and it just so happens that none wants to farm silk or they are terrible at it and will call getting 10 silk a saving grace. More like get 10 stacks, please! This is the level of item farming we are at and it's too much grind. ShadowbirdRH
You've survived this long with only the pitchfork for moving around turf, if the turf-raiser helm is such an unmanageable nightmare for you, just don't use it. Nightmaretribe
Its honestly a very cheap item I don't see the need to make the craft cheaper it would be convenient to let us repair it with a sowing kit but is definitely not necessary. Think about it for a moment no one liked killing ant lion and no real need to do so only for our bases to not be destroyed now we have a goal to make sure we dont spend the hole summer in the caves and actually make sure we kill her for her sand stones lets make it best of both worlds here and how about if we can repair the helm from 1% to 100% with a sand stone I see this helping keep the boss still needing to be farmed and everyone can repair the helm what do you think? ShadowbirdRH
You can get as many sand stones as you want by giving her trinkets or eggs, probably some other things I don't know off the top of my head too. Don't even need to kill her for the recipes, as the beach toy trinkets fished from the oasis gets her to cough those up. I killed her once, and that was enough for me. Once I saw the animation for full appeasement, killing her wasn't something I was particularly interested in. Besides, rocks have a tendency to build up, it's nice to have an outlet for them. It'd be nicer still though if she'd accept flint too, through the slurtle slime farm is a fine outlet for that too.
