thornythylacine Posted September 12, 2022 Share Posted September 12, 2022 it only makes sense! trail mix irl lasts basically forever, i don't understand why in-game it spoils so quickly. i love to use it as an early game healing item since the healing is pretty good, and it has easily accessible ingredients, but i just can't get past how quickly it spoils, even in an icebox--it spoils even faster than perogies . it would make a really good emergency healing item to have stockpiled or stored somewhere in case you ran out, and if anybody's worried about it being too overpowered/"good" of an item, it's already balanced out by the fact that you have no access to birchnuts during winter and limited access during spring. Bumber64 Posted September 12, 2022 Share Posted September 12, 2022 It spoils in 15 days (shared with dragonpie and honey ham) compared to pierogi's 20. It's simpler to produce than pierogi, not requiring a bird cage or meat. IIRC, it has a faster eating animation than the others, which makes it ideal for healing in combat. Bumping it up to 20 days wouldn't change balance very much, but having an edible this easy to obtain with no spoil time definitely would. Bundling wraps exist for this purpose.
