Void of Winter
So, I own rats. Rats are pretty smart little animals and require lots of enrichment to be happy, toys, stuff to climb on, burrow in, hides and the like. It struck me today that we shove a bunch of critters in a room and give them nothing like that. Pips for example, being rodents, should reasonably need some kind of enrichment like any other captive-bred rodent. As for what it could do for the game, a small buff (maybe 3-5%) to resource production of the critter seems sensible. Or maybe it simply contributes to a critter's happiness. Thoughts? Sasza22
I suggested this before. The happiness system could be expanded so that the happiness level controls the critter metabolism and it can go anywhere in the 20-100% range. While grooming the critter gives max happiness for a while stuff like proper plants (different for each critter) or items like a burrow for hatches or a light bulb for shinebugs would passively add to their happiness. There could also be toys that they can interact with like plastic thingies for biting.
