YeatFan
I would like to share a new character I have thought of, Introducing: Wampy Perks: Wampy will need to get blood from mobs/meat rather than eating normally, similarly with old Wolfgang depending His hunger will effect his powers. At low hunger he will have a negative speed multiplier and mine/chop slower. At medium hunger he will move and mine at a normal pace and will have a positive damage multiplier. At high hunger he keep the damage multiplier and will fly allowing him to go over the ocean and have a speed multiplier. He will be able to turn 2 nightmare fuel into an spell which shoots a shadow bat at the target dealing a massive amount damage. He can befriend 4 nearby batilisk using a monster meat and make them follow you to attack mobs for a short amount of time, you may also be able to domesticate them if you keep them well fed for over 10 days, once domesticated they will permanently be your friend they go back into their burrows at day they will go looking for loot such most commonly bring cheap stuff such as light bulbs however their is a small chance may get rare stuff such as gems. He starts with tier 1 magic and can use a prestihatitator to get tier 2 magic Weaknesses: As a vampire he is allergic to the sun so after being exposed to it for more than 2 days straight. This is why he will be able to spot all sinkholes will be visible to him. Bunnies are naturally aggressive to him. This is simply a concept and it is not very robust so I'm looking forward to your opinions on this character. Fill-Lips
Interesting, I'm gonna break down each point down to give my opinion on this concept all together: Missing: Stats? Kinda needed in a character design, do they have high max hunger, low max hunger, standard max hunger? Is it the same with the other stats? Is the average stat destribution high or low? Wampy will need to get blood from mobs/meat rather than eating normally Nice and straight forward, but not explained to well, does this mean Wampy is a meat eater, only heals from meaty food or is only fed from meaty food? At low hunger he will have a negative speed multiplier and mine/chop slower. At medium hunger he will move and mine at a normal pace and will have a positive damage multiplier. At high hunger he keep the damage multiplier and will fly allowing him to go over the ocean and have a speed multiplier. This is just old Wolfgang but with the added bonus of being able to fly at high/full hunger... I don't like this, this is just Wolfgang but with wings. Also, flying is a really strong perk that breaks a lot of fights, so I would just avoid flying as a concept. He will be able to turn 2 nightmare fuel into an spell which shoots a shadow bat at the target dealing a massive amount damage. Is this a craft or an alt action like soul hop? Otherwise a good idea. He can befriend 4 nearby batilisk using a monster meat and make them follow you to attack mobs for a short amount of time 4 is an odd number, 6 is better since that's the grouping number they normally spawn with on the surface, even though bat caves spawn with 4. I would also let the batilisks be tamed with any meat, Fine otherwise. You may also be able to domesticate them if you keep them well fed for over 10 days, once domesticated they will permanently be your friend Excellent idea with a well balanced criteria, the bats would need to look visually different like domesticated beefalo do to distinguish them from regular bats. They go back into their burrows at day How would this work on the surface or when far away from the burrow? I would change this so they go into your inventory during the day instead (They do have an unused inventory Icon) They will go looking for loot such most commonly bring cheap stuff such as light bulbs however their is a small chance may get rare stuff such as gems. Is this in connection with the burrow bit, they act like catcoons spitting stuff out or do they act like Polly Roger? Good idea though if it's domesticated batilisks that do this. He starts with tier 1 magic and can use a prestihatitator to get tier 2 magic This bit is a little random, is it because of the Shadow Bat idea? I would drop this as it's unneeded since nothing he does nothing that connects him to magic. Also majority of other survivors who use magic or have survivor items locked behind magic tiers don't have this perk either. E.g: Wanda, Wickerbottom and Maxwell. As a vampire he is allergic to the sun so after being exposed to it for more than 2 days straight. Does this mean he takes damage over time, is set on fire or start overheating on the surface? Also nice conditional that it's 2 days in a row since you wouldn't be able to avoid this on start. This is why he will be able to spot all sinkholes will be visible to him. Not mentioned in the perks? Also how would this work? Does it reveal open, closed or both sinkholes? Are they revealed like moonlens on the map? This perk might be a bit much as they aren't too hard to find in a day or two. Bunnies are naturally aggressive to him. Is he human or a monster? Otherwise... Alright. Pretty good idea, but I feel his wolfgang-esque perks is a bit much and creates an issue of essentially being Wolfgang 2.0. It shouldn't let him fly... And maybe it shouldn't increase/decrease his mining/cutting speed and overrall damage (Movement speed is fine IMO, maybe add an increase at high) but instead effect the damage of his shadow bats? And to expand on the idea of being a vampire, the cost of the shadow bats could be HP, not nightmare fuel. Could even change his power to scale off current health instead of current hunger? Oooor, an even crazier idea, his shadow bat damage should scale with the number of batilisks he has tamed? (Though a max number of tamed bats might be needed) TLDR: No Wolfgang 2.0 plz, I like the other perks, explain and expand upon more. Edit: Also, avoid just putting 'New character concept' in the thread title, it's a little off putting. I feel like it would have 175 hp and 200 sanity and 150 hunger as its a vampire so it would have to be a little stronger than wilson and it would also need some more perks to justify its weaknesses 13 hours ago, Fill-Lips said: Wampy will need to get blood from mobs/meat rather than eating normally Nice and straight forward, but not explained to well, does this mean Wampy is a meat eater, only heals from meaty food or is only fed from meaty food? He will only be able to eat from meaty foods like wigfrid but when he is holding no item he will use his fangs to attack mobs and gain hunger from them, the fang attack will do the same damage as a spear but will cost 5 sanity per bite. 13 hours ago, Fill-Lips said: At low hunger he will have a negative speed multiplier and mine/chop slower. I feel this is mostly unnecessary so I wouldn't mind removing it. 13 hours ago, Fill-Lips said: He will be able to turn 2 nightmare fuel into an spell which shoots a shadow bat at the target dealing a massive amount damage. This will be a action like wortox soul hopping. 13 hours ago, Fill-Lips said: You may also be able to domesticate them if you keep them well fed for over 10 days, once domesticated they will permanently be your friend Excellent idea with a well balanced criteria, the bats would need to look visually different like domesticated beefalo do to distinguish them from regular bats. The domesticated basilisks will smile once domesticated. 13 hours ago, Fill-Lips said: They go back into their burrows at day How would this work on the surface or when far away from the burrow? He will start over heating after being exposed to the sun for 16 minutes straight, he will be able to cool off during night time and dusk will give some down time not effecting his over heating. 13 hours ago, Fill-Lips said: This is why he will be able to spot all sinkholes will be visible to him. This perk was made in mind for new players to give them direction but its unnecessary so idrc about that one. 13 hours ago, Fill-Lips said: Bunnies are naturally aggressive to him. He is a monster but now that I think of it pigs should be as well. 1 Link to comment https://forums.kleientertainment.com/forums/topic/142820-new-character-concept/#findComment-1595829 Share on other sites
