Actions without tools

How can I make a character mod cut tree, dig, mine, hammer without the use of tools?

I wish he could do this with his hands. And I would like it to be able to do the digging action via a shortcut button different from the others possible, so that it could still be seen at other weights and bass without pulling out of the ground.
