little idea for getting more slots

i haven't seen anyone really suggest this ( mostly cuz i don't post/read many posts here ) but what if, wx could remove more of himself, to get more slots?

like removing vital parts to get a max of 9 slots to get way more fragile, but more powerful. like, what if he could remove a part of his health/hunger/sanity and drain that said stat while that part is out, while getting the benefit of 1 more slot for each stat? maybe they'd get only 1 extra slot for the price of 2 draining stats, if the 9 slots benefits outmatch the downsides. maybe it wouldn't make much sense rationally and lore-wise, but i think it'd work well to get a way more flexible gameplay style, while keeping it balanced
