An alternate use for the Night Light?

What if the Night Light wasn't fueled by Nightmare Fuel, but rather it turned on automatically around insane players and it's light was visible only to them?

I wanted to suggest this because I love the premise of the Night Light and would love to see skins in the future for it, but I rarely find anyone using one because of how non-viable it can be from many factors. The light gives off no heating or cooling, the cost (for building and maintaining) is pricey, it's still susceptible to shadow hands, and drains sanity. The light lasts longer, but it only lasts for little more than a day at max level.
