Dead asteroids

They can be located at map edge. Each tile is exposed to space and they don't have any organics. No plants, animals and materials that are marked as organic. Each void tile is replaced with regolith inside asteroid. However, there's an overabudance of other materials.

So basically asteroids with nothing that can keep your dupes alive? Like the superconductive asteroid (magma/liquid niobium and obsydian only) but not as hot and full of metals and maybe other minerals. I think it could work but would be rather boring especially if it`s far. I predict people would bring all they need in a rocket.

On the other hand if it`s too far to send resources directly it might be interesting to make a colony there.

Also it could be a very a very frozen (absolute zero) variant of a normal planetoid with some changes. I mean, there will be oxygen, but it would be solid. This fact also means, it would be a great industrial center for your colony, but it will be hard to stabilize life support there. In addition, there could even be a "ruined" variant of your early-game (~20 cycle) base.
