NEW SYSTEM OF MEDICINE AND DISEASES

This is my first forum and I'm brazilian so sorry if the english isn't the best, i'm using a translator to make it as good as possible, in this forum i wanted to show my idea for a new and improved system of diseases and medicine that it currently is very useless within the game and i think this should be a free update as the system already has it in the game and that would be an update.

How would the system work?

First: Diseases would have ''tiers'' now, that is, TIER 1 then TIER 2 and then TIER 3. the higher the tier the worse the disease is.

Tier 1 has the following diseases in its group:

- The flu
- Allergies
- Hypothermia
- Light burns (Burns)
- Sunburn (Burns)

Tier 2 has the following diseases in its group:

- Food poisoning
- Slime lung
- Zombie spores
- Medium burns (Burns)
- Radiation disease (Level 1)

Tier 3 has the following diseases in its group:

- Fever
- Insolation (Burns)
- Radiation disease (Levels 2 and 3)

Each disease gives a doubling action its effects and debuffs, this would be presented in the database and each disease would have a description about it:


The flu:
Desc: Influenza is contracted after being exposed to germs of different diseases. is the first stage of a sick duplicator (tier 1), the duplicator gains negative effects and debuffs.
Note: The duplicate does not catch the flu before catching a disease of the same tier, such as allergy or hypothermia.

Flu causes the effects of sneezing and gives a debuff of -2 athletic and -2 strength

The flu, if treated with medication and no longer exposed to germs, takes 3 cycles to be 100% treated (ie, lower contamination rates to below 5%). if left untreated, within 3 cycles, the flu evolves into a tier 2 illness that will make treatment more difficult. The duplicant gets the flu when contamination rates rise above 20%.

The illness the duplicator gets after the flu depends on the exposure rates the duplicator had during the cycles he was exposed to germs, the illness with the highest exposure rate is more likely to be contracted. information on exposure rates is only obtained when the duplicate has the flu and goes to the hospital for an exam (the exam would need the patient ward structure, a doctor with medical care, a hospital status room and the health routine ). During the 3 cycles of the fluxed duplicant the exposure rates can increase or decrease, if the duplicant no longer comes into contact with the germs and is medicated it will decrease the contamination rates. if the duplicate is not medicated and remains exposed to germs it will increase the exposure rate. the medications do not cure the flu but decrease the duplicant's contamination rate by 10% over a cycle. the duplicator can only take a flu drug. after the third cycle, if the contamination rates decrease to below 5%, the duplicator is cured, otherwise the disease with the highest exposure rate will make the duplicator ill and need its specific treatment.


Allergy:
Desc: Allergy is contracted after coming into contact with pollen from flowers, it is a mild disease and therefore it is categorized as tier 1.

Allergy causes the effect of sneezing

Allergy lasts 1 cycle if the duplicator no longer comes in contact with the pollen of unequipped plants


Hypothermia:
Desc: Hypothermia is contracted after the duplicator is exposed to areas with very low temperatures, it is a mild disease and is therefore categorized as tier 1.

Hypothermia causes the effects of sneezing, and shivering.

Hypothermia lasts for 1 cycle and after that the duplicator gains 3 cycles of immunity to it.

Warm clothing protects the duplicator from getting hypothermia.


Burns:
Desc: Burns are a class of scalable illnesses contracted after the duplicator is exposed to areas with very high temperatures, these are light burns, medium burns and heat stroke. If a duplicator stays in high temperature locations without protective equipment it will contract the first stage of burns which are Light Burns (tier 1) if the doubler stays in the high temperature location for a while the Light Burns will become Medium Burns (tier 2) and if the duplicate remains in place, the average burns will become Heatstroke (tier 3). Each level of burns further aggravates the effects and debuffs the duplicator suffers and in tier 3 Heatstroke the duplicator passes out and needs support from a doctor to be carried to the hospital. There is also sunburn (tier 1) which is caused after prolonged exposure to sunlight without protective gear, it causes mild debuffs.

Sunburns give -2 athletic debuff and -2 strength
Light burns give -3 athletic and -3 strength debuff
Medium burns give the debuff of -6 athletic and -6 strength
Sunstroke makes the duplicator pass out and after being rescued will have to receive treatment for 10 cycles, during which time he cannot work until he is 100% cured.


Food poisoning:
Desc: Food infection is contracted after being exposed to food infection germs. After taking an exam (the exam can only be done with the flu duplicate) he receives information on the contamination rates with each disease and will be able to see the contamination rate for food infection, if the flu is not treated, after 3 cycles the duplicate you can get the food infection if it is the disease with the highest rate of contamination. Foodborne infection is a tier 2 disease and causes many negative effects for the duplicator and others.

Food infection causes vomiting, takes time to use the toilet, takes time to eat and gives -3 debuff in any type of task.

Duplicant must receive treatment for 10 cycles to heal, each treatment cycle increases the chance of the duplicant to heal by 10%, if the duplicator does not receive treatment or ends up not curing by a half-treatment (like he was left with 60 % chance of curing as he received treatment in 6 out of 10 cycles) he gets fever which is tier 3 of the disease.


Slime lung:
Desc: Slime lung is contracted after being exposed to slime lung germs. After taking an exam (the exam can only be done with the flu duplicate) he receives information on the rates of contamination with each disease and will be able to see the rate of contamination for slime lung, if the flu is not treated, after 3 cycles or Duplicant may contract slime lung if it is the disease with the highest contamination rate. Slime lung is a tier 2 disease and causes many negative effects for the duplicant and others.

Slime lung causes coughing, sneezing, faster air loss, slower air gain and a -5 debuff in any type of task.

Duplicant must receive treatment for 10 cycles to heal, each treatment cycle increases the chance of the duplicant to heal by 10%, if the duplicator does not receive treatment or ends up not curing by a half-treatment (like he was left with 60 % chance of curing as he received treatment in 6 out of 10 cycles) he will contract fever which is tier 3 of the disease.


zombie spores:
Desc: Zombie spores is contracted after being exposed to zombie spore germs. After taking a test (the test can only be done with the flu duplicate) he receives information on the contamination rates with each disease and will be able to see the contamination rate for zombie spores, if the flu is not treated, after 3 cycles the duplicate can catch zombie spores if it is the disease with the highest rate of contamination. Zombie spores is a tier 2 disease and causes many negative effects for the duplicator and others.

Zombie spores cause sneezing, coughing, vomiting and -15 debuffs on any task.

Duplicant must receive treatment for 10 cycles to heal, each treatment cycle increases the chance of the duplicant to heal by 10%, if the duplicator does not receive treatment or ends up not curing by a half-treatment (like he was left with 60 % chance of curing as he received treatment in 6 out of 10 cycles) he gets fever which is tier 3 of the disease.


Fever:
Desc: Fever is the third level an illness can have (tier 3), If the duplicator is not cured during the flu phase (tier 1) it becomes ill with the illness that had the highest rate of exposure during the flu phase. flu this disease is tier 2 if the treatment of 10 cycles does not cure the duplicant he will get a fever. The fever makes the duplicator stay in the hospital, thus becoming useless in the rest of the colony's affairs and will need medical treatment for 20 cycles where the doctors will take care of him until he is 100% cured and can return to the colony. If the fevered counterpart is not treated within 5 cycles he dies.

Fever causes the duplicator's hospitalization and risks of death.


Radiation disease (levels 1, 2, 3):
Desc: Radiation sickness is contracted when the rate of radiation in the duplicator's body is too great. the duplicant's radiation rates may increase if it stays in an area with a lot of radiation or in places with a lot of nuclear precipitation germs.

The more radiation the duplicator is exposed to the higher the level of radiation sickness it takes with at 150 rads being level 1 disease, at 300 rads being level 2 and at 500 rads being level 3 radiation sickness.

Each level has its complications and ways to treat:

At tier 1 radiation sickness (tier 2) the duplicator has -5 debuff and is emanating 30 rads around itself. The duplicator will only need to let the radiation levels drop to heal.

At radiation sickness tier 2 (tier 3) the duplicator has a -10 debuff, is emanating 60 rads around itself, and is constantly vomiting. The duplicator must receive treatment with medicines to reduce the rate of radiation and can now be hospitalized if he prefers not to let the mess happen.

At tier 3 of radiation sickness (tier 3) the duplicator gets -15 debuff, is emanating 120 rads around itself, and is vomiting all the time. The duplicator will be hospitalized for 10 cycles and will have to take medication to reduce the rate of radiation.

The rate of radiation after level 2 of radiation sickness no longer goes down on its own (300 rads+) and thus only goes down with medicine.

If the duplicator does not receive radiation lowering medicine, it will die.



New mechanics (structures):

The sick wing (Structure already in the game) would be used to carry out exams on the duplicates and give medicines and vaccines.

The disease clinic (Structure already in the game) would be used to reduce the radiation rates of duplicates. (would have the requirement of 1.2kw power and a filter each use).

The screening stretcher (Structure already in the game) would be used to cure diseases such as sunburn, light burns, medium burns, heat stroke and fever. (all those who need hospitalization).

The apothecary (Structure already in the game) would be used to produce the medicines and the filter for the patient clinic. (would have the requirement of 120w power).

The vaccine bench (New structure) would be used to produce the vaccines. (would have a requirement of 480w).

The massage table, elegant memorial, decontamination shower, hand sanitizer, sink and lavatory (In-game structures) would have no changes.


New Mechanics (Items and Effects):

Flu medicine (made in the pharmacy)
Desc: Decreases the duplicates' germ rates while they have the flu.

Antibiotic (made in apothecary)
Desc: Increases the duplicator's chance to be cured of a tier 2 disease by 10%, can only take 1 per cycle during treatment.

Supplement (made in apothecary)
Desc: Decreases the duplicates' germ rates without having the flu any longer.

Radiation Pill (Made in Apothecary)
Desc: Keep the same in the game

Anti-allergic (made in apothecary)
Desc: Keep the same in the game

Vaccine against food poisoning, (made on the vaccine bench)
Desc: Brings an immunity of 30 cycles for the duplicator not to be contaminated with food poisoning.

Slime lung vaccine, (made on the vaccine bench)
Desc: Provides a 30-cycle immunity for the duplicant not to be contaminated with slime lung.

Zombie Spore Vaccine, (Made on the Vaccine Bench)
Desc: Brings a 30-cycle immunity for the Duplicant not to contaminate with zombie spores.

Germ resistance trait makes the duplicator need 10% more exposure to increase its contamination rates

Immunosuppressed trait makes the duplicator need 10% less exposure to increase their contamination rates

Doctor's clothes (made in the textile factory)
Desc: Protects physicians from the disease of duplicates undergoing treatment but not radiation and needs a medical clothing station and medical checkpoint to wear. Medical Clothing Checkpoint will only pass through for duplicates with the meds skill or higher. (station requirement is 60w power)

The drug preparation job gives the ability to work in the apothecary and vaccine bench and wear medical suits.

The medical care work gives the ability to medicate and vaccinate duplicates and treat duplicates with tier 1 and 2 diseases.

Advanced medical care work gives the ability to treat duplicates with level 2 and 3 radiation sickness.

Having space for you klei who are wonderful developers who created this game to create other diseases, etc.
