Scummer
Hi Klei and members, I have loved these games and the amazing art & adventure they offer for years, and always eventually come back to them to play some more. I even invested money into these games to show my support. I still remain frustrated years later that I cannot easily keep my save games for these games. I am not sure why this ironman mode style of play has to be enforced by the devs. PC is easy enough to access and keep save files, though it is annoying and time consuming, but Android has become difficult. Through another difficult and time consuming process, it was once possible to use the paid program Helium to restore the save files in this game, and continue playing a save game after dying. These days, I don't think helium will work with android to do this any more, which means I basically never play this game as I am not playing on pc lately. I do not enjoy investing days, weeks or months into an elaborate and all consuming gameworld just to have it all wiped out because my finger slipped or a controller failed or I get cornered or make a mistake. I have my real life to provide that kind of crushing disappointment and defeat. I often just want to relax and play this game on an Android device but don't bother because of these reasons. The game is already very challenging while using save restores. Does anyone know a way I can restore my saves on an unrooted Android device? Ideally, I would really like to be able to do this within the game without third party software or 'save scumming'. On many games, ironman mode is an option, not enforced. Also, the large folding screen device I am trying to play on puts the action buttons up at the top of the screen in a very awkward position, and the thumbstick too far in, it would be good to be able to move both of them to a screen position that's comfortable, and also to keep the inventory bar from moving to the left and right and getting cut off by the sides of the screen. Obviously it is your game and you can make it any way you want, but it doesn't really work for me, and is even worse on Android, which is a shame because I like the game a lot and just want to play it, with the option of continuing and trying again when I die. Cheers. Link to comment https://forums.kleientertainment.com/forums/topic/136286-playing-dont-starve-my-way/ Share on other sites
