Doe last update we got like, 6 elegant skins for free, not to mention all the free codes for points and spools they release with each update + all the non-expired ones.

If anyone wants to go for quick spools, there are some quick purchases you can make for low money since everything is on sale almost all the time, that and the steam market you can use to make some profits and get even many more spool than what the item is worth.

If you want an elegant, I mean, you are going for the highest quality item, and they even make it so that market items and weave only items are differenr. There's not much complaining considering all the free stuff they give and considering most items are weaveable.

Also forgot to mention twitch drops along all that.

The game itself doesn't provide a lot of spools quickly, but if you're persistent you'll finally get what you want FOR FREE.

Not my creation, but a very good one :)

On that note: I don't really think it's particularly polite to grumble about amount of free stuff you receive. A lot of games, majority if I'm not mistaken, doesn't give away much, while Klei, apart from daily gifts, gives generous amounts of virtual currency via various links.

Back to topic:
I once created a thread about "pocket spools" as in pocket money, that players would receive instead of daily gifts (while still receiving gifts by playing) and the feedback was quite biased. It seems people like the system how it is.

However, I can see the system is not quite well designed if most common and classy skins end up unraveled or traded in the Trade Inn (not the best method unfortunately, gambling is bad, children) and there is no convenient way of doing it faster, than unraveling them one by one.
My idea is to make a special tab in Item Collection, called "Spool Loom" or something like that, where one could unravel unwanted items in one action (checkboxes with "check all commons/classy/spiffy/etc." option and/or check all items you want to unravel and do it in one go). "Skin Queue" mod is something, but still far from perfect.

EDIT:
Here's my topic from last year, might be helpful
