Any clue on how to change soundfiles?

For a few weeks now, I've been interested in the idea of changing the game's music and sound effects. Unfortunately, I have no knowledge in modding and find it pretty confusing to learn how. Are there any guides out there that can help me? I feel like it shouldn't be hard to replace sounds, though I'm not experienced enough to say it concretely.
