Making the Solid Filter More Useful

Recommended Posts

Right now, there's no reason why I'd ever choose the solid filter over the conveyor shutoff/element sensor combo. They both filter out one specific items, both require three tiles (although you have more flexibility with the shutoff/filter arrangement)...but the filter uses 120w, while the shutoff/filter combo only requires 10w!

I think the solid filter ought to have the capability to filter out *categories* of items (critter eggs, metal ore, edible, etc.). It would make the extra power cost worth it in many circumstances, especially when you're looking to filter food from everything else.

Your mileage may vary, but that's my perspective. :)
