Problem with speech files.

So, I recently started moding in Don´t Starve Toguether. I made a basic character based on a pre_existing template, but 

is an obsolete one and much of the quotes are missing, I taked the Wilson speech files from the game and put them into

my character, but now the server doesn´t start for some reason. When putting back the old speech files it works again,

but I really don´t know why I can´t use the updated speech. Any sugestions?

Could be some issues with the way you implemented them or could be some issues with ur template not working thanks to Wanda's release.

I'd honestly say that you should wait for somebody to make a new template for the Wanda update or you could try to delete everything your character's speech files and then put in the new Wilson speech and try from there.

If it fails again, just put in the old speech file for your mod. Hopefully there'll be something soon that will be compatible with the new updates.

So, I take the updated speech files, It worked, but after a time I realise the problem is with the characters names,

I dont know why but everytime I change something it just fails loading the mod.

Change something how?

Like dialogue text? Because if that's the case, you need to make sure your formatting that correctly, IE:

 

"I am speaking, right now.",

Commas need to be at the end of every line of dialouge, and all dialouge should be in quotation marks. Another thing that could've gone wrong is that one of the many groups of dialouge (Where there's different lines depending on it's state) could be missing a bracket (Example: { or }).

If it's neither of that, then it could be the name your using for Wanda. I haven't checked, but sometimes characters or objects are reffered to things that are different than their in game names. (Maxwell is called WAXWELL and so on and so forth).

If it's none of that, make sure to share your error screen via snipping tools or any way you can capture a screenshot of your game. It would help us be able to solve your problem a lot faster. You could also attach your character's speech_name.lua file here.
