The Above-Average Tree Trunk is provide protection from lightning strikes?

Recommended Posts

I heard that Above-Average Tree Trunk is supposed to provide protection from lightning strikes. When I stand under the shade of the tree, it function normally, preventing lightning from strking nearby object and the tree itself, but once I stand outside the shade, lightning will always hit the tree and set it on fire, which is obviously a bad thing. So it means I still need to build lightning rods to protect a lightning-prevented tree?
