(Help!) Materials Study Terminal not collecting Radbolts

Recommended Posts

Hey all!  First time posting on here.

I have about 400 hours logged into this game.  I've used the Materials Study Terminal before.

It isn't collecting radbolts anymore.  The bolt hits the target then immediately turns into nuclear waste on the floor.  The Materials Study Terminal reports as empty.

I've tried restarting the game, restarting steam, and restarting the computer an nothing seems to work.

I kinda need that research to finish the game.image.thumb.png.9fccec0d8beffde03eba0f5f8f338684.png

Any ideas would be great!
Thanks

Can you show a screenshot where you have selected the materials study terminal?

In my experience there are only a couple reasons this could happen. The terminal is full (100 radbolts), the terminal is disabled (can't confirm but this may be possible), or maybe it's unpowered.

Also, do you have any automation wires running behind?  I've accidentally had an automation wire hit a port on a building and I didn't realize... Resulted in the building getting disabled without me noticing.

Here are the overlays.

Mods being used are falling sand, work profiles, Larger Zoom, and show building ranges.

I've gone through and disabled them to trouble shoot to see if it was something in there but the problem persists.

It's not the first time this kind of thing has happened.  Honestly I'm about ready to uninstall.

.....  I just figured it out.  The rad bolts don't travel through creatures damaging them anymore.  It collides, doing damage and falling out as nuclear waste.
Thanks for your response.
So much for using bugs for rads.

On the upside I now have a way of making early high temp coolant :/

So your radbolts were hitting the shine bugs?  I've never used them, instead using solar radiation and then wheezeworts once I got to them through my teleporter, so I didn't anticipate that problem.

Seems extremely unlucky to always have something get in the way of the bolts considering how infrequently they fire !
