it is possible to have mushroom trees in the surface? like ds. i was in a public server and saw some mush trees and the server did not had any mods. so i was quite confused

Might have been spawned.

 

In DS mushrooms turned into mush trees at fullmoon but that feature was cut in DST.

The code is there still perhaps the server uncommented the code so it worked on their server.
