Encumbered Lines Not Playing For Character Mod

Is anyone else having an issue where certain speech lines won't play for their character mod?
I'm using wilson's speech file (overwrote it with my own character lines ) and the altered encumbered lines play just fine when I'm the host, but for some reason when I'm in someone else's world the encumbered lines won't play. My friend has the same issue with his own custom character mod but my other friends don't for theirs. Can anyone think of a possible reason why? : (
