Webber Use In Co-op?

tldr; How can I use Webber effectively while friends are non-monster characters?

 

So, me and my buds started a new co-op game where we would choose each other's characters. Someone picked Webber for me. Luckily enough, I played him a bunch in the past, building bases with spider nests as my defense. But my friends are picking human characters like Wendy and Willow, making my usual strategy ineffective since the spiders will attack them. What's another way of playing Webber that doesn't rely on using the nests as a defense?

Webber is good for farming spiders to get monster meat for meatballs, spider glands and silk. For defense against hound waves (assuming that's what you meant by defense) you can use tooth traps to kill them easily, if you don't have any you can lead them into mobs like tentacles or beefalo.
