Wigfrid and the base hidden in plain sight

(Note that this was before the Wigfrid refresh, whatever it may bring to the table)

So I, Wigfrid, had stumbled upon an Xbox server named "ha wendy go brrrr" in late spring, (day 61), and had decided to join it

Day 61 - Spring

I joined the world, and decided "I'm a big Viking, I don't need any help" and didn't ask for base (The stigma is pretty much non-existent on Xbox) And set off on my journey

I had found a cave entrance and decided to check for loot

And oh boy was it worth it

There was so much grass and twigs just a screen away, plenty enough for the journey

I then went up, killed some bats, found a swamp and said in the chat "Swamp, that's a good sign"

Day 62 - Spring

It started raining

And eating nothing but raw meat while it's Raining really takes a toll on your sanity, even if you have a straw hat

I then went to a forest to the right of the swamp, and found a couple pigs

I said "MEAT" in chat, and you can probably guess what I did next

I then went through the forest, getting a stack of twigs along the way, and found some needle and a wormhole that led to the swamp from earlier

After a few unsuccessful attempts at hunting the beeflo (they were in heat), I noticed a part of the forest that was burnt. And I said "Its all burnt, You've been here" 

And I started going to the swamp on foot, because I was losing sanity (In retrospect I should've taken the wormhole)

Day 63 - Spring

This is where things take a turn for the worse

Still on at way to the swamp and I hear the distorted music that plays when nightmare creatures start too attack you

Great.

I made it to the swamp, and there was nothing connected to it

Dusk rolls around and my sanity drops to zero, but I notice the deciduous forest right across from the swamp'd right side

I checked my map, And would you look at that! A little sliver of deciduous connected to where I explored

And now there's a Terrorbeak chasing me

Great.

Night rolls around and I make a mad dash out of the swamp

And I pass a Merm house and get hit multiple times

My health is now about half

GREAT.

Day 64 - Spring

I notice 2 paths in the deciduous biome, and follow them both

None lead to pig king

GREAT!!!

I look some more, get a hit a couple times, and then make a campfire

Now imagine a game of Duck Duck Goose between a Terrorbeak and a 1/4 health Wigfrid

That's essentially what that night was

Day 65 - Spring

Once I get a safe distance away, I check the map to see if I missed any spots where base and put king might be

Oh hey! There's Glommer! There must base right nex-

It wasnt

But I thought I myself, 1/5 health at this point, "At least I can eat his goop for health, I'm already ins- OH WAIT I'M WIGFRID (please Klei add this to treats)

And the rain stopped, and I would soon have a fighting chance

And, nearing the end of dusk, when the Terrorbeak goes slightly away I quickly pull out the map, And I see part of the base surrounded by berry bushes

FINALLY I HAD FOUND IT

My current goal completed, I made an even madder dash to the base, in the dead of night

I get there just before the night ended

Day 66 - Spring

As I was running circles around the campfire AGAIN (Duck Duck Goose Round 2) Waiting to dry up, The Wendy there (the only other player) said "Oh hi"

Then I figured "I may be at 1/6 health and in no condition to fight, but even if I do die, Wendy is right here to rez me!"

And I fought

And I won

I leaned against the Sist-Urn (there were no petals), with no monsters to worry about, and my health at 1/4

And I said some things to her while she was dancing, celebrating my success

"Heya, I made it!"

"I GTG anyways, but it was fun" (My Elder brother wanted on the Xbox)

"Cya tomorrow"

I now see why some people go out to servers just to find the base, as this was some of the most fun I've had in DST ever!

And I hope I do see you again, Wendy
