There is someone or something besides the craft stations?

We know that craft stations are very important in the game.

They have an aura of knowledge. (At least that's how I understand it).

We have several of them.
The Voxola PR-76 Radio was the first craft station with which Wilson had contact.

And then:
Science machine;
Alchemy engine;
Prestihatitator;
Shadow manipulator;
Ancient Pseudoscience Station;
Celestial Orb and Celestial Altar, etc.

(Not to mention that the Celestial Altar somehow communicates with the survivors).
Is anyone or anything talking to us like Maxwell spoke to Wilson?

Are craft stations much more than an inspiring environment for new ideas?
