marksmango
The self-sealing airlock mod is nice, but I think there are at least a few of us that want to build vent-out-fluids-before-the-door-opens types of airlocks. While this can (and probably should in the early game) be achieved with a gas/water sensor, pump, filter and flow tiles, mid- to late-game could use a more elegant solution. What I have in mind is an all-in-one type building containing the pump, filter, sensor and automation. There are a few possible designs for this, but the most basic one would effectively be 3 airflow tiles (or liquid) attached to a gas filter (so 3x2) or a gas filter with a single 'main' flow tile attached (like the short, T-shaped tetris piece). It would be assumed that the pump and fluid sensor exist somewhere inside the center tile. Obviously this device could be rotated for ceiling/floor use. An Auto-In would be attached to something like a dupe sensor so the airlocks don't get stuck in an open/vent/close loop. The filter would be set to single/all fluids, and when the selected fluid has been removed from the flow tile the Auto Out would trigger your choice of automation-likely a door, but y'all will probably come up with even crazier things. marksmango
Seems like I don't have enough rep to edit posts, but in case anyone was interested in this I found this mod: Wall Pumps and Vents It may not do exactly what I was looking for, but if you slap a filter on top of it and wire up a sensor, it gets the job done.
