simple ranch design

Recommended Posts

Just started a new colony with the new launch beta testing and been running pretty smoothly in the new forest map. I have made a pretty simple and efficient ranching area on the map to produce coal, meat, and power. I placed a groom station at the button of the area to groom both hatch and lightbug. I placed a critter sensor set at 8 to remove any additional hatch and lightbug egg after the room is been filled with more than 7 critters/eggs and send them up 4 floors above with the rest of the hatched critters. (door for this floor is closed to prevent lightbugs to fly out too early) 2 floor below the hatch/lightbug stable is the pip room with the same setting except the sweepers send the eggs to the smaller area on the right of it once it reaches the number set by critter sensor. (door s are open on this floor to prevent pips to move out of the room) 1 floor above the hatch/lightbug area is the solar panel floor, where airborne critter lures are placed on each side of the solar panels to attract lightbugs to different areas, and have an opening on top of the lure for easier bug access. I don't know how many lightbugs are there right now but its producing more than 300Ws of power for free and definitely can go up more. The floor below the sinks is the slaughter house area where they either die to natural causes or getting murdered by my dupes for their meat. sweeper will of course pick these meat up before other hatches eat them away. Currently making another fishing area above for automatic fishing farm with similar idea.
