WJake Posted June 28, 2019 Share Posted June 28, 2019 I have tried quite a few runs with this game and I feel like it is too boring to play alone. I am able to survive on my own over 1 year with Wigfrid. That being said, I can do any character except for Wes but I still prefer Wigfrid. I will be hosting server named “Welcome Semi-Experienced Player Like Myself” every Saturday Central Pacific Time from 9:00-10:00 starting July 6th. It is in endless and I have installed mods to make sure the revival process will be less of a penalty because we all know the lag is bad. There's a steam guide called "How to setup preconfigured servers with Steam Tools". If it's too hard for you, I already have a dedicated server pre-configured. Also can you show me the mod list? I usually play as Wicker and Maxwell. My character choice really depends on the playstyle. I usually spend first 140 days just building the base and farms, so I prefer Wicker (best for harvesting plants) and Maxwell (for logs and rocks). If I gathered a decent amount of rocks I would switch to Winona, for catapult farms. If I want to fight bosses (ex. dragonfly, klaus, bee queen) I would switch to Wolfgang. Also, Willow is good for nightmare farm and Wendy is good for sanity station. If I decided to do a ruin rush early game, I would choose Wigfrid or WX-78. I never choose Wilson, Wes, Woodie and Webber. Also sometimes I play as Wendy just because her quotes are so poetic! Wortox is a good support character (quick team healing) and his voice is a violin, my favorite musical instrument. Wormwood is good for farming living logs when teamed with Wortox. Wilson is useless because beard hair isn't that difficult to obtain. Wes is too overpowered and will break the game instantly. Woodie is only good and chopping yet he does it slower than Maxwell. I personally prefer Wendy for farming spiders instead of Webber. Also I hate Webber's voice. Character selection isn't really that much of a big deal these days since you can just change your character at the celestial portal for 1 moonrock and 1 purple gem. I have a friend who gave me this game who only knows how to play Maxwell and he will jump in from time to time. He is not the best of gamers though. Thank you for sharing so much with me and it seems like your understanding of this game is much better than that of mine.(So you may have to carry me/us) We have similar play style though as I like to spend at least 120 days perfecting my base. I tried two cave runs with Wigfrid and maybe because I was playing Wigfrid so it was not too bad but I only know the mechanics of the upper world and I barely know anything about the caves except for the bunny men who hates me and the glowing bulbs. I know there is something like a depth worm but I haven’t really tried to set up a cave base. I don’t know what to do in winter though even as Wigfrid, I dare not to do anything else but staying warm and collect 8 pieces to monster meat to feed them to bird and feed the pigs and kill them for meat and make bacon and eggs all winter to live. I tried to kill Mac Tusk but I seem to just can’t leave my base too long even with a orange thermal stone and a beefalo hat. I used to play wicker but I am just not too good at fighting so I figure I would be better playing wigfrid or Wolfgang but I don’t really like Wolfgang’s portrait so Wigfrid it is.
