Copy Beta file to live, once RoT is ready?

So, I feel totally stupid. 

On their initial announcement about RoT I read in the FAQ: 

Will my existing worlds work in the beta branch if I copy them over?
Not at this time. For future updates, we will look into the possibility of retrofitting the new content into existing DST worlds, as we did for the A New Reign updates.

And suddenly I realized I totally missread that. At that time I was playing the Hamlet Interior Beta branch and ended up copying files from life to beta branch back and forth etc. 

Maybe it was therefore that I actually understood was "RoT Beta game files won't work anymore once these new updates are moved from beta branch to live."

So I want to double check. Now if I understand it correctly it reads to me. "Files only wont work copied from LIVE to beta (because there is no ocean in live yet". But it doesn't mean beta files won't work in live, once the ocean will be added to live? Right? Right you guys? 

Someone give me a little confirmation here please.

I feel so ******* dumb now. I didn't play DST for this particular reason this past entire month, cause I didn't want to lose my new world in the RoT Beta Branch. Damn me...

Theoretically yes, if you copy your Beta Save files into Live (when Beta goes live), you'll be able to play your Beta world(s).. if no further bugs pop that is, crashing and whatnot. Though this is not 100% certain, as it seems Klei enlarged the scope of their initial/planned update - that's why the delay ("...when it hit and we saw people playing it we decided that the level of content for the game wasn't quite what we would feel should be released to the live game"). Again: theoretically.
