Why is there no way for mac users to compile animations?

Recommended Posts

Just like the title says...

Why is there no way for Mac users to compile animations?
It really cannot be that complicated for Klei to port the tool over to mac.
even in a stand-alone, or manual input format...
something...
there seem to be quite a few people out there that have talent/skill/creativity...
and as such are Mac users. But we are limited to only Lua script modding.

I'd even be happy with a way to override the images .. i.e.

make the graphics and code for a new (insert basic in-game item here)
use the existing Anim Build/Bin of the base item.
but then OVERRIDE the graphics within the mod...

for example a book... they all animate the same... yet each one has to be
compiled with its own animation bin's the only variance is the atlas graphic...

I think it has pushed allot of talent away from the community.
there were tools we could compile ourselves (after installing like 4+ other
things several of questionable quality and with little documentation...)

but even those only SOMETIMES worked it seems.

It's rather insane but I'm almost ready to look at swap meets for a crap PC but
then wait no it has to meet the minimum specs of the game cause the auto-compiler
in in the pc version itself...

Begging for help. There HAS to be a way for me to use this quad-core running,
Solid state having, millions of color displaying cast half as much as a car computer to
change the graphics on a flipping umbrella...

Any guidance ANY would be so awesome.
I played DST for like an hour and immediately purchased them all I love it so.
Help me Klei Kenobi... you're my only hope.

As I am not a very Patient man... 17 hours and 80 gig's of SSD space and 80 dollars later...
I have successfully added windows to my Mac.
Be warned apple eaters... specifically pre 2016?-ish machine users... Boot camp can no longer be done via a USB.
(windows have upped the size of the april install distribution version over the max we can transfer between the systems)
There are also a  number of .dll issues that you will have to correct the major one being the MSVCP100.dll
for whatever reason the one in the Tools via steam is borked/corrupted.
and lastly, both installs of steam will SHARE the same "doc folder" for settings...
so those get all wonky if you actually open Don't Starve on the Windows side. (I suggest not doing that and using that install just for
running auto-compile)
If you are trying to do this and have issues, FEEL FREE TO MESSAGE ME!! I'll help you out as much as I can.
Would still be nice to NOT have to go to such an extreme to compile such baseline graphics.
I've modded so many more advanced games on my mac. (None I instantly LOVED as I do Don't Starve Mind you) and only ARK
seemed to be so closed to me as a Designer/Programmer.

Anyway... For NOW, I have a solution... windows on my mac (God that's like saying Real Artifical sweater)
and I have my FREAKING CUSTOM UMBRELLA!
