I had bases run solar power with a single detector with no meteor damage completely reliably. Only issue was the robo miners overheating eventually. Transparent bunker tiles just remove an interesting part in the solar panel setup. Well i`d be ok if it required space materials or if it blocked 50% sunlight so the normal setup is still useful at least for a while.
